The National Buying Administration team is looking for a Legal Assistant to support supplier onboarding and contracting. Reporting to the Buying Manager Administration, you'll be responsible for managing and optimising supplier contracts.
In this role, you'll review, negotiate, and amend contracts to ensure they reflect commercial terms while protecting the company's legal and operational interests. You'll work closely with Buying colleagues and external legal teams, serving as a key contact for contract-related matters and ensuring alignment with business goals and regulatory requirements.
A key part of your role will be to support the onboarding of new suppliers from a contractual perspective. This includes preparing and issuing standard and bespoke agreements, ensuring compliance with internal policies, and guiding new suppliers through the contract process to ensure timely and accurate execution. You'll help establish a smooth contractual foundation that supports strong, long-term supplier relationships.
You'll also help manage contract renewals and variations, resolve legal queries, and identify and mitigate contractual risks. Additionally, you'll support improvements to contract management processes, including maintaining accurate records, enhancing workflows, updating templates, and helping implement digital tools.
This role requires a strong commercial mindset, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to balance legal considerations with business needs. Your work will be key to ensuring our supplier arrangements are clear, compliant, and built to support sustainable growth.
