###

Job description

Delivering the latest technological advancements directly to the military operator through experimentation, design, development, and delivery of operational prototypes. Innovation is at the heart of our strategy, you must be agile, able to modify and integrate the latest technology and engineering practices, into our procedures.

Employing your extensive knowledge, skills, and passion for engineering into action to deliver direct advice, guidance, effects and analysis to a 'front line' operational military user community. Are you a committed Electronics Engineer passionate about delivering the latest technological advancements directly to the military operator through experimentation and the delivery of operational prototypes.

In this role, you will join a high-performing team delivering cutting-edge electronic solutions to support a specialist UK military user community. You will be embedded within a unique military organisation, working closely with the C5ISR branch and reporting to the Head of C5ISR. Your work will focus on solving complex tactical and operational challenges through the delivery of novel, operational technologies that provide real-world impact.

The role demands critical thinking, creativity, and technical excellence. You will be expected to design, develop, test and deliver practical electronic systems--often under pressure, with limited information, and always in direct support of those operating at the front line. This includes tasks such as PCB design, software development for SDR's and embedded systems, and hands-on prototyping and soldering. You will also work across disciplines and engage regularly with military users of all ranks, adapting solutions to suit evolving operational needs.

Your responsibilities will include handling sensitive and classified information with discretion, contributing technical insight to mission planning and analysis, and ensuring that every solution developed is informed by real operational context. You'll be a technical leader and a trusted adviser, expected to manage project direction while remaining personally involved in engineering delivery.

To be successful, you'll hold an OfQual Level 6 qualification (or equivalent) in electronics, communications engineering, or a related field. You will bring substantial experience across a wide range of technical domains, including communications networks, electronics design, radio systems, programming, and cyber-security principles. Above all, you must be comfortable working in a hands-on role--this is not a desk-only position. If you're not prepared to spend time in the lab designing, building, and testing, this role isn't for you.

This is an opportunity to apply your skills where they matter most--on projects that directly support and protect those on the front line.
