Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Cable Jointers Mate to join our team. In this role, you will assist in the installation and maintenance of cable networks, ensuring that all work is carried out safely and efficiently. This position requires a proactive approach to learning and the ability to work collaboratively with experienced jointers.

Duties

Assist in the installation, maintenance, and repair of underground and overhead cable systems. Operate excavators and other machinery as required for cable laying and maintenance tasks. Utilise hand tools and power tools effectively to perform various tasks related to cable jointing. Support welding activities as necessary for cable connections and repairs. Maintain a clean and safe working environment, adhering to health and safety regulations at all times. Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of projects while maintaining high-quality standards. Demonstrate mechanical knowledge by assisting in troubleshooting equipment issues as they arise.

Requirements

Previous experience in a similar role is advantageous but not essential; willingness to learn is key. Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to understand electrical systems is essential. Experience using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively. Good communication skills, with the ability to work well within a team environment. A proactive attitude towards health and safety practices on site. Pay: 30,000.00-38,000.00 per year
