About the role
Join our Balfour Beatty Kilpatrick team as a Cable Management Technical Lead on the Hinkley Point C Project.
About Hinkley Point C
The first new nuclear power station to be built in the UK in over 20 years; Hinkley Point C in Somerset will provide low-carbon electricity for around 6 million homes, create thousands of jobs and bring lasting benefits to the UK economy.
Marking a significant milestone in the revitalisation of our nuclear power industry, Hinkley Point C will make a major contribution to the UKs move to reduce carbon emissions. The electricity generated by its two EPR reactors will offset 9 million tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions a year.
This role will be 10% site based and 90% remote/ office based - Location can be flexible.
What you'll be doing
This role is part of the cable management team, responsible for assisting the
cable management team, processing data within the cable management database (CMPIC), to allow the cable installation team to progress accurately and efficiently.
You will have the following accountabilities,

• You will be the Project Subject Matter Expert for CMPIC Software

• Act as liaison between software company/Cloudis and MEH Alliance.

• Learn and understand how to resolve CMPIC error codes

• Project maintenance of processes for links to other software (as required)

• Configuration of CMPIC for construction activities

• Cable Management reporting activities / Maintain and keep cable lists up to date

• Developing Process for uploading Termination in CMPIC

• Initial cable drum management (advance of site activity)

• Site support/queries

• Ensure accurate loading of data by the team

• Import of data to CMPIC

• Upload cable routes into CMPIC

• Update & Maintain cable tray network in CMPIC.

• Support Configuration Management checks on inputted and reported

data.

• Regular reporting on cable data upload and processing

Who we're looking for

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)

• Up to intermediate level of proficiency with MS Office programs.

• Further Education academic qualification (min. HNC, preferably an

engineering discipline, but not essential).

• Knowledge & Experience of cable installation in an industrial setting

• Knowledge & Experience of applying robust quality processes &

procedures.

• Experience managing large volumes of data.

• Knowledge & Experience of AutoCAD (or similar)

• Able to obtain a BPSS Security clearance.
