Comex2000 is currently seeking a committed and enthusiastic Cable Operative to join our B2B & Other Morpheus (Scotland) department in the Livingston/Glasgow area. If you are a hard-working, committed individual who is eager to learn, then come and join the Comex2000 family!

What are we looking for?

We are looking for a strong individual to build and maintain new and existing Core Telecommunications Access Networks, specifically copper cable pulling, jointing and testing; involving heavy cable pulling, either with assist equipment or by-hand; jointing at internal & external locations; and identifying cables that require maintenance, in various environments.

What will you be doing?

As Cable Operative, your core responsibilities will be -

Responsibilities and duties



Underground cabling, Rodding & Roping ducts, installing sub ducts and blowing fibre Will be required to work with conventional fibre, blown fibre, copper & CATV cables to client specification Ensure all equipment used meets recognised safety standards Ability to carry out internal cabling tasks in addition to small cable pulls by hand Ensure daily completion of required apps for the workstream (risk assessments & van, tools, and plant checks) Professional conduct & excellent customer care skills - Whilst interacting with service providers, end users, members of the public and Virgin Media employees where necessary. Adherence to Virgin Media quality standards Ability read and understand job packs inclusive of cable maps, site drawings, SLD's and BOM's Report and produce blockage maps Ability to record changes and updates made, as a result of work carried out, updating line manager with details on task closure. Ability to work safely and be NRSWA compliant Will be required to go on an ERS rota once every 5-6 weeks - this means being available 24/7 for a week should a call come in
