We are looking for a talented and creative CAD Design Engineer to join our engineering team and play a pivotal role in the development of our next-generation products and systems.

Role Overview

:

As a CAD Technician, you will be responsible for designing and developing detailed 3D models using CAD software. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the designs are functional, manufacturable, and aligned with client specifications and project requirements. This role is perfect for an individual who thrives in a collaborative and fast-paced environment and has a passion for precision design.

Key Responsibilities

:

Create detailed 3D CAD models and technical drawings for products and components using Weldments and Sheet Metal.

Collaborate with engineers and product managers to understand design requirements and ensure feasibility.

Ensure designs are optimised for manufacturability, cost-effectiveness, and efficiency.

Work with the manufacturing team to review designs and make adjustments based on feedback.

Perform design analysis, including stress, strain, and material selection, to ensure product durability and performance.

Maintain and organise design documentation and revision control.

Contribute to design reviews and provide innovative solutions to complex design challenges.

Identify opportunities for cost optimisation without compromise to design integrity.

Stay updated with the latest CAD tools, design techniques, and industry trends.

Prepare bills of materials for costings on new enquiries.

Assisting with purchasing and sourcing bespoke parts

Must have experience working with Solidworks Weldments and Sheet Metal, creating Weldments cut lists and parts lists.

Key Qualifications

:

Proven experience as a CAD Technician or in a similar role with a strong portfolio of CAD work.

Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar design tools.

Strong understanding of engineering principles, materials, and manufacturing processes.

Knowledge of design analysis tools and simulations (e.g., FEA).

Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team.

Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
