Job Summary


Role Purpose



We are seeking a skilled CAD Designer with strong experience in sheet metal design and manufacturing. The ideal candidate will have a Sheet Metal background, likely having operated Turret Punches/Laser Cutters/Brake Presses, along with being proficient in Autodesk Inventor, with a background in engineering, and preferably have exposure to acoustic housing design. Knowledge of RADAN is distinct advantage. This role supports the development of high-performance enclosures for applications including air-source heat pumps and commercial compressor housing.

Key Responsibilities:



Create detailed 3D models and production-ready drawings using Autodesk Inventor either from Design Concept interpretation or from 'Blank Sheet' Design

Design sheet metal components and assemblies in line with manufacturing best practices adopting commonality and design for manufacture protocols

Liaise with production, procurement, commercial teams and clients to ensure designs are accurate, feasible, manufacturable and installable.

Optimize parts for manufacture, including nesting and material utilization (knowledge of RADAN beneficial)

Contribute to continuous improvement in design for performance, cost, and ease of manufacture

Ensure designs comply with acoustic, structural, and thermal requirements where applicable

'Cradle to Grave' Project Ownership to ensure Design to Manufacture to Installation

Requirements:



Strong proficiency in Autodesk Inventor

Proven experience in sheet metal design and fabrication

Hands on Sheet Metal Manufacturing knowledge & Experience

Further and/or Higher Education Engineering Craft or technical qualification

Working knowledge of acoustic housing products preferred

Familiarity with RADAN/other CAD/CAM software's is a plus

English language fluency (written and spoken)

Self-motivated, detail-oriented, capable of working remotely with minimal supervision

Project related site attendance

Occasional overnight project related site attendance
