CAD Draughtsperson (M&E)

Rochester, Kent | Office-based | Fixed term until 23 December 2025

About Us

We are a Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) engineering and contracting company based in Rochester, and work on a variety of commercial projects. Due to demand over the coming months, we are seeking a skilled CAD Draughtsperson to join our design team on a fixed term basis.

The Role

You will be responsible for producing and updating detailed CAD drawings (layouts, schematics, plant / M&E services) to support our technical department. You will work within the office, liaising with the technical team and project managers to ensure drawings are accurate, up to date, and delivered to deadline. Occasional site visits may be required for surveys or mark-ups.

Key Responsibilities

Produce 2D CAD drawings for mechanical & electrical services (HVAC, piping, ductwork, plumbing, etc.) Interpret sketches, design briefs, site data into full drawing packages Maintain drawing records, version control, and CAD library Assist in checking and coordinating drawing interfaces with other disciplines Update and revise drawings as projects evolve Occasionally visit site to capture survey data, annotate, and feed back to design team

Requirements

Proven experience as a CAD Draughtsperson in an M&E / building services / plant environment Competent in AutoCAD Understanding of mechanical & electrical services and ability to interpret engineering concepts Good organisational skills, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines Comfortable working in an office environment (Rochester, Kent) Excellent communication skills Knowledge of M&E standards, ductwork / piping routing, HVAC layout
