The Role

We are seeking a

Joinery CAD Technician

to join our Design Team, working closely with our Project Managers and Production Manager. This is an office-based role, and

remote working is not available

. Applicants must be able to travel to our Chorley office daily.

This position plays a key role in bridging the gap between design and manufacture. You will be responsible for translating design concepts into accurate, detailed technical drawings ready for production, ensuring each project is delivered to the highest standard. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their skills within a creative and hands-on workshop environment.

Key Responsibilities

Produce and analyse detailed technical drawings for bespoke joinery manufacture using

AutoCAD

Convert designers' or architects' drawings and sketches into fully workable manufacturing drawings Create

DXF files

for CNC machinery, coordinating requirements with the Production Manager Contribute to value engineering by proposing design adjustments or alternative materials where appropriate Ensure all drawings meet project specifications, internal standards, and delivery timelines Upload, issue, and manage drawings internally and externally via email and document portals Attend site visits to carry out detailed surveys to support design, manufacture, and installation Liaise closely with joiners and production staff to resolve technical queries Manage workloads effectively and work to project deadlines Use Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and company document control and HR systems (training provided)
Experience & Skills Required

A background in

joinery is essential

, with previous experience in a design or drawing office environment A minimum of 5 years' experience in

AutoCAD

Strong understanding of technical drawing standards and construction detailing The role is predominantly

2D

, though some

3D drawing

may be required; 3D experience is advantageous but not essential A strong understanding of furniture production methods and materials including veneers, laminates, solid surface materials, metalwork and upholstery. Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail Confident, adaptable, and willing to support the wider team to improve efficiency Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with both creative and technical teams Flexible approach to working hours to support workflow and meet deadlines Comfortable using Microsoft Office software, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
