Job Title: CAD Technician
Salary: 25,000 to 35,000 per annum depending on experience.
Reports To: Design Manager
Location: Christchurch, Dorset
Main purpose
To produce precise construction elevations and plan drawings, in response to enquiries made through the Sales team and from the client directly; provide clear and concise communication at all levels; and confidently work independently applying drawing knowledge and Atlas processes.
Core Responsibilities
To efficiently manage own workload to deadlines set by the Design Manager, immediately highlighting where there are likely to be delays to the relevant manager.
Produce accurate and detailed CAD Layouts and plans, technical drawings, elevations and sections within 2D AutoCAD
Setting out and optimising timber structural components cutting list instruction to CNC department using V carve software. Appropriate training will be provided
Communicate with other departments to ensure deadlines are met, in line with quality expectations, including but not limited to ordering materials, and handing over to Production
To work with the Project Managers on projects, providing technical solutions, advising of changes to projects, and any increased costs and charges that may apply
Provide clear and concise verbal and written communication to and with clients, including sending drawings.
Being able to handle queries independently, confidently applying drawing knowledge.
Other Responsibilities
Provide support to the Design team and other parts of the business as and when required
Co-ordination and preparation of all supporting documentation required in the tender bid
To work alongside your colleagues in ensuring that all Atlas products are met to the required standards and to deadline, following Company procedures and practices at all times.

Excellent communication and organisational skills
Attention to detail is essential
Excellent working knowledge of 2D AutoCAD
Experienced in AutoCAD design.
Previous experience working in banquette/furniture manufacturing environment beneficial.
Good team working skills
Personable and friendly character
Proficient in MS Office packages, including Excel.
