Purpose & Scope of the Role
As a key member of our technical delivery team, you'll support maritime engineers in producing high-quality drawings and technical details for infrastructure projects. You'll contribute to 3D modelling, ensure BIM compliance, and play an active role in quality assurance.
Reporting to the Director of Ports and Maritime, you'll be part of a passionate team delivering innovative solutions across the UK's coastal infrastructure. This role offers excellent training, mentoring, and development opportunities through our early careers initiative.
Your Impact in this Position
You'll gain hands-on experience supporting the design and delivery of maritime projects, develop your CAD capabilities, and build trusted relationships with engineers and colleagues. By your second year, you'll be confidently producing technical drawings, contributing to multidisciplinary design teams, and helping shape infrastructure that supports sustainable coastal development.

Technical Competence
This role requires a technician with strong AutoCAD skills and a willingness to learn new software and techniques. Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D, Revit, or reinforcement detailing is advantageous but not essential.
You'll be expected to produce high-quality technical drawings and support engineers in preparing detailed design documentation. A proactive attitude and adaptability are key.
Problem Solving & Quality Assurance
Attention to detail and the ability to analyse and solve technical challenges are essential. You'll contribute to quality assurance processes and help ensure our deliverables meet the highest standards.
Team Collaboration & Communication
You'll work closely with senior engineers and team leaders, supporting technical delivery in a collaborative environment. Good interpersonal and communication skills are important, as is the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
MANDATORY Training & Qualification Requirements
Level 4 qualification (HNC/HND in Civil Engineering or equivalent)
BENEFICIAL Training, Qualifications, or Equivalent Work Experience
Progress toward EngTech registration
Experience in maritime or civil infrastructure projects
Familiarity with BIM processes and 3D modelling tools
