Job Summary
We are looking for a
skilled CAD Technician
with experience in the
stone and worktop fabrication industry
. This role is key to the smooth communication between
templating on site
and
production in the factory
. It involves taking and processing
Corex templates
, checking measurements, and producing precise
manufacturing drawings
for fabrication.
This is
not a design role
, but rather a
technical position
focused on accuracy, communication, and understanding of stone fabrication processes.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
Convert
Corex templates and site measurements
into accurate CAD drawings for factory use.
Liaise with
templaters, factory staff, and production managers
to ensure all details are clear and correct before manufacturing.
Communicate directly with clients when necessary
to confirm project details such as
material choices, edge profiles, cut-out positions, and specific requirements
.
Interpret drawings and templates to confirm
cut-outs, joints, edges, and material specifications
.
Review and adjust drawings based on feedback from site or production.
Maintain an organized drawing database for easy retrieval and reference.
Ensure that all drawings follow internal quality and fabrication standards.
Assist with material optimization and preparation for CNC/waterjet cutting when required.
Requirements
Experience within a stone worktop or marble fabrication environment
(essential).
Proficiency in AutoCAD
or similar CAD software.
Strong understanding of
stone materials, joints, overhangs, upstands, sink/hob cut-outs
, and other worktop fabrication details.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in interpreting site templates.
Strong communication skills to coordinate between
site teams, production, and clients
.
Ability to work efficiently under time pressure and manage multiple projects.
A relevant technical qualification or proven experience in a similar role preferred.
