TRAINEE CAD/TEKLA DETAILER/DRAUGHTSPERSON / STEEL & METAL WORK DETAILER

Frequency Design Ltd have been specialising in Structural Steelwork and Architectural Metalwork detailing for the Construction Industry for the last 17 years. Due to increasing contracts, we are recruiting for a Trainee to join the expanding business.

The company undertakes small to medium sized contracts within the UK. Its range of projects is diverse and includes development contracts for school, colleges, hospitals etc., as well as commercial and residential. There is now an exciting opportunity to join this friendly business for a hardworking and proactive individual.

We are looking for determined, driven and ambitious individuals that show excellent computer skills, an interest in Technical Computer Design and an interest in starting a career in the Construction Industry.

We will provide full in house and external Training as necessary and the opportunity to be part of a growing team, with a wealth of knowledge and experience to share.

Experience/Qualifications

2D / 3D Computer Aided Design - Using AutoCAD or similar (preferred)

Or similar/some experience with Constructional Engineering packages (Tekla/StruCAD/Advanced Steel)

Educated to a minimum GCSE 'B' Grade in Math's, English and a Science/technical subject

Ability to work efficiently and independently using their own initiative

Good communication skills (colleagues and clients)

Willingness to learn, to improve and develop your own skills.

Build and maintain good relations with all clients and suppliers and their project team personnel to promote the company values. In all interactions with customers, our culture of quality, professionalism, fairness, 'can-do' attitude should be held foremost in our client's minds.

A desire to learn new skills and develop a new Career in CAD

Good working experience with office software such as Microsoft Office.

Good time management skills.

Good organisational skills.

Personable and able to work within a team environment, whilst displaying independence and initiative

Included within the role

Reporting to Managing Director

3D modelling and detailing using Tekla Structures

Creation of drawing issue sheets & RFI registers

Carrying-out site surveys

Liaise with Contract Design teams, clients and fabricators

Attend internal production meetings and external design meetings

This position is office based (Bagshot, Surrey).

Salary dependent on experience
