About the Role

We are seeking a skilled

CAD / CAM Engineer

to join our team at the Petersfield Technical Centre. This role is pivotal in supporting our Toolroom by importing and reviewing customer data, assessing feasibility, and implementing required modifications to ensure efficient and accurate production. You will work closely with the Toolroom Manager to cost and plan work, generate EDM electrodes and settings, and produce detailed working instructions for the machine shop and toolroom.

Responsibilities

Design and modify in-house tools, including producing detailed drawings and BOMs for ancillary parts. Output all drawings and documentation to the Production Manager. Review overseas tooling and provide clear, actionable feedback to toolmakers. Assess customer component feasibility and provide accurate feedback to customers or Project Managers. Produce detailed documentation outlining data comparisons and design feasibility. Support project management activities and ensure timely turnaround of customer modification requests.

Requirements

Proficiency in CAD software, particularly SolidWorks, MATLAB, Simulink, and BTEC HNC in Design/Manufacture or equivalent. Experience with an industry-recognised CAD system and competency in handling 3D model data. Comprehensive knowledge of injection mould tool design. Computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office suite. Clean driving license, as travel to customers and suppliers may be required.
