CADCAM Technician

Consolor Ltd is currently recruiting for a CADCAM Technician. Previous experience in a CAD/workshop or production environment would be ideal but not essential as training will be provided.

Consolor assesses clients with physical disabilities and manufactures a wide range of seating and mobility products to support and enable our customers. We improve the comfort and physical postures of our customers which help them to be more independent and functional, whether that's improving breathing and digestion or helping them to communicate and interact with the world around them.

During the clinical assessment we take a 3D scan of the client's posture. Back in the workshop the CADCAM Team use specialist software to finish designing the seat, a robot is programmed and then carves the custom seat to each person's profile. The seats are finished by hand and various other fabrications are manufactured and assembled and finally the finished seating systems are fitted into a new powered or manual wheelchair.

Some of the other tools and machines this role will use are bandsaws, sanders, routers (including CNC) and numerous hand tools. Every seat is individually made and shaped to each individual customer and trimming of foam seats with power tools is a key part of the role.

Your role...

Carry out workshop/manufacturing/assembling duties required to produce bespoke wheelchair seating to the highest possible standard

Use CAD software for the purpose of designing/refining and rectifying seating systems

Undertake engineering fabrication and assembly work in plastic, foam and metals

Ability to follow work instructions and drawings

The successful candidate will possess?

Background or experience in, woodworking, mechanical engineering/repair/bench fitting or assembly Practical aptitude/mind set Good attention to detail Ability and willingness to learn and to be highly motivated Organised and ability to work to a plan Good communication skills and good team working skills

Starting salary 24,042

40 Hours per week

Monday - Thursday 7am to 4pm (1pm on Fridays)
