About the role:
The post holder will be the first point of contact in the cafe and must uphold excellent customer service while efficiently preparing orders.

Main Responsibilities:
Preparation of hot and cold food both to order and for pre-booked meetings and events.
Serving and clearing tables.
Making and serving coffee and other hot drinks to order, as well as serving soft and alcoholic drinks.
Replenishing and tracking stock.
Supporting to manage orders and deliveries of cafe supplies.
Maintaining a tidy and clean space in line with Health and Safety standards.
Monitoring and recording kitchen practices to comply with regulations.
Taking payments at the till point.
Assist in the running of events in the cafe/bar and meeting rooms including birthday parties.
To comply with the arrangements made to deliver services in accordance with the Vauxhall City Farms Equal Opportunities Policy.
To adhere to all health and safety instructions and not to do anything that might endanger themselves or others; to report to their line manager any dangerous situations in the workplace or any shortcomings in health and safety arrangements that they perceive.
Person Specification:
Experience in working in a cafe / bar environment
Be of legal age to serve alcohol (18 years or over)
Level 2 or above in food hygiene and safety
A good understanding of Health and Safety procedures and Safeguarding practices.
Good customer service skills and strong communication skills
The ability to work on own initiative, using judgement and common sense.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills and an ability to relate to people of all ages.
The ability to work flexible hours including weekends

The post holder must have the right to work in the UK and will be required to provide the necessary paperwork to verify this. As the role requires close working with children/vulnerable people the post holder will be subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service clearance on appointment.
The work of the Farmyard Sessional involves contact with young people. The postholder will therefore be subject to a DBS clearance on appointment and on an appropriate review basis thereafter.
