Cafe Manager - Bean & Bread, Abergavenny

Full-time | 27,000-31,000 DOE

Bean & Bread is a well-established, independent cafe in Abergavenny serving a Kiwi-inspired, predominantly plant-based menu in a relaxed, community focused space. After 7 years of growth, we're looking for an experienced Cafe Manager to lead our flagship site and drive the next phase of development.

The Role

As Cafe Manager, you'll oversee daily operations, lead a passionate front-of-house team, and work closely with Jess (the owner) and the Development Chef to deliver an exceptional experience every day. You'll combine hands-on service with strong organisation, people management, and a focus on profitability.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and motivate the team to deliver excellent service and smooth daily operations. Drive sales growth through strong product knowledge, upselling, and community engagement. Maintain menu efficiency and consistency in partnership with the kitchen team. Track weekly sales, manage costs, and protect profit margins. Oversee staffing, training, and performance reviews. Plan and support cafe events and private hires. Ensure compliance with all food safety, hygiene, and H&S standards.
About You

Previous cafe or hospitality management experience. Confident leader who builds positive, motivated teams. Strong understanding of stock control, labour management, and GP targets. Organised, proactive, and passionate about independent hospitality. Creative approach to community connection and customer experience.
