Job Summary

Join our cafe team at Brew & Bite in the heart of Thirsk, North Yorkshire. As a key member of our cafe team, you will prepare simple food (eg: sandwiches and salads), create and serve delicious coffee, as well as other drinks and food to our customers.

You will work 18 hours per week, on the following days and hours:

Monday: 3 hours*

Wednesday: 5 hours*

Friday: 3 hours*

Sunday: 7 hours

these hours can be arranged inside of typical school hours.
Please note that Sunday availability is a requirement of this job. You must be confident working solo as that will be required at times. It may be possible to consider this as a job share, please state if this is an option for you.

Responsibilities

Prepare and serve a variety of hot beverages such as coffee,tea and hot chocolate Operate coffee making equipment such as espresso machines and grinders Operate the point-of-sale system Prepare food: salads, sandwiches, jacket potatoes etc. Maintain a clean and organized work environment, with excellent food hygiene standards (Level 2 Food Hygiene certificate preferred) Restock inventory and supplies as needed, monitor cafe stock levels Safely use all cafe equipment as instructed

Qualifications

Previous experience of front of house service in a restaurant or cafe environment is essential Strong knowledge of food safety guidelines (Level 2 Food Hygiene certificate preferred) Excellent customer service skills with a helpful attitude Proficient in time management to handle peak hours efficiently Good understanding and experience of food preparation techniques Availability for shifts as outlined above.

Pay: 12.21-12.51 per hour

Expected hours: 18 per week
