Overview

We are seeking a talented and passionate Chef to join our culinary team in a new cafe in York City Centre. The ideal candidate will have background in a similar role, have a focus on food preparation and be very reliable. As a Chef, you will play a crucial role in creating a delightful brunch experience for our guests, while ensuring the highest standards of food safety and quality.

Availability over the Christmas period is essential, although please note we are closed on Christmas Day

Responsibilities

Prepare and cook high-quality dishes Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring efficient food production and timely service. Maintain strict adherence to food safety regulations and hygiene practices. Collaborate with management to develop new menu items and seasonal offerings. Handle any customer feedback or complaints professionally, striving for continuous improvement. Provide input and ideas towards our seasonal special menus.

Experience

Proven experience as a Chef or in a similar role within a restaurant or catering environment. Strong culinary skills with a deep understanding of food preparation techniques and presentation. Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices for maintaining hygiene standards in the kitchen. Ability to work under pressure while maintaining attention to detail and quality standards. A passion for cooking and creativity in developing new dishes that delight guests.
