Experienced Cafe / Cook Assistant (Barista & Kitchen Experience Essential)

We are looking for an

experienced Cafe / Cook Assistant

to join our busy, community-focused cafes. This role is

not suitable for beginners

must have previous cafe experience

, including

barista work and kitchen food preparation

.

This is a hands-on role in a fast-paced cafe environment where

common sense, cleanliness, food safety awareness and pride in presentation

are essential.

What we're looking for:

You must:

Have

previous experience working in a cafe

Have

barista experience

(coffee machine use, drinks prep, customer service) Have

kitchen experience

(food prep, cooking, assembling food for sale) Have a

good understanding of food safety and hygiene

Understand and confidently manage: Day dots & date labelling Stock rotation (FIFO) Fridge and temperature checks Checking food quality Using

initiative

when food is nearing its use-by (not relying on others to tell you) Be confident

prepping food for front display

(sandwiches, wraps, salads, hot items, dips etc.) Be

clean, organised and proactive

-- there is a lot of cleaning involved and this is non-negotiable Have

common sense

and the ability to work without being micromanaged

Creativity & presentation:

We are looking for someone who:

Takes pride in how things look Enjoys making displays

look inviting and attractive

Can keep the

front coffee and food display area clean, tidy and "pretty"

Understands that presentation sells food

Duties include (but are not limited to):

Food preparation and cooking Barista duties and customer service Preparing food for display and sale Stock rotation and stock checks Fridge and temperature checks Cleaning (front of house, kitchen, equipment) Following food hygiene, health & safety procedures Cash handling and tills Supporting the cafe team with all day-to-day cafe responsibilities

Availability requirements (essential):

Must be able to work Wednesdays

Every other weekend is required

Must be

flexible to work across all three sites

Reliability and punctuality are essential

This role is ideal for someone who:

Has already worked in cafes and understands the reality of the job Takes pride in their work Is reliable, switched on and hardworking Enjoys a busy environment and being part of a small team
If you do

not

have cafe, barista

and

kitchen experience, this role will not be suitable.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: 7.55-15.13 per hour

Expected hours: 16 - 30 per week
