We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Cafe Manager to oversee daily operations within our vibrant cafe environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a passion for hospitality, and extensive experience in food preparation and service. This role involves managing a team, ensuring exceptional customer service, maintaining food safety standards, and driving the overall success of the cafe. The Cafe Manager will play a pivotal role in creating a welcoming atmosphere while ensuring operational efficiency and high-quality food production.
Responsibilities
Lead and supervise the cafe team, including baristas, kitchen staff, and serving personnel, fostering a positive and productive work environment
Oversee food preparation and cooking processes to ensure quality standards are met consistently
Manage daily operations, including opening and closing procedures, stock control, and cash handling
Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain high standards of hygiene across all areas of the cafe
Organise staff rotas, assign duties, and monitor performance to optimise team productivity
Handle customer enquiries and resolve any issues promptly to ensure excellent customer satisfaction
Develop menus in collaboration with chefs or culinary staff, incorporating innovative ideas while maintaining operational feasibility
Monitor inventory levels and place orders for supplies as needed to prevent shortages or wastage
Promote a welcoming atmosphere that encourages repeat business and positive reviews
Implement marketing initiatives to attract new customers and boost sales
Train new staff
Qualifications
Proven supervising experience within a restaurant or hospitality setting, ideally as a Cafe Manager or similar role
Extensive background in food preparation, cooking, and food production techniques
Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage teams effectively
Knowledge of food safety standards and regulations
Experience in hospitality management, including restaurant or hotel environments is highly desirable
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Barista experience is advantageous but not essential; however, familiarity with coffee preparation is preferred
Exceptional communication skills with a friendly yet professional demeanour
Demonstrated ability to lead by example while fostering teamwork and motivation among staff
