Job Description
The Cafe Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day running of The Coffee Pot (located within Johnson Community Hospital in Spalding). This is a key role as you are the 'face' of the business to a variety of customers within the hospital community. leading a small team of staff to deliver excellent customer service, consistent quality, and smooth operations. They will oversee food preparation, stock management, compliance, and financial performance.
Key Responsibilities
Manage daily cafe operations, ensuring smooth and efficient service.
Lead, train, and motivate staff and volunteers.
Oversee food safety, hygiene, and compliance with all EHO regulations.
Manage stock ordering, rotation, and supplier relationships.
Develop menus, pricing, and promotions in line with visitor demand.
Monitor sales, control costs, and achieve agreed gross profit targets.
Maintain accurate financial records, cash handling, and reporting.
Ensure a safe, welcoming, and clean environment for all customers.
Person Specification
Essential:
Experience managing or supervising in a cafe, restaurant, or catering environment.
Strong leadership and people management skills.
Barista skills and experience with coffee machines.
Excellent customer service focus and communication skills.
Knowledge of food hygiene standards and health & safety regulations.
Ability to manage stock, budgets, and financial reporting.

Terms:
Salary: will be commensurate with experience Working Hours: Rota shift pattern There may be requirements to work some irregular hours over peak periods Holidays: 28 days inclusive of bank holidays pro rata to your working hours Pension - as per auto enrolment requirements Notice period: 1 week extending to 1 month after initial 3 month trial period
