Ten Eighty Two is a beloved and growing breakfast and brunch cafe known for our exceptional coffee, innovative menu, and vibrant atmosphere. As we prepare to open our exciting second location in Glasgow's West End, we're looking for a dynamic leader to help us build and nurture a new team from the ground up. This is a fantastic opportunity to grow with us and shape the success of a new cafe.

The Role:

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Cafe Supervisor with strong leadership qualities to support the day-to-day operations of our new West End location.

You will be the right hand to the Manager, playing a key role in leading the team, delivering outstanding customer service, and maintaining our high standards for quality and efficiency. Your primary goal is to ensure a seamless and fantastic experience for both our customers and your team.

Key Responsibilities:

Team Leadership & Management:

Supervise, coach, and motivate a team of baristas and serving staff to achieve excellence.

Assist with training new hires on coffee preparation, customer service standards, and operational procedures.

Delegate tasks effectively and ensure the team is productive and engaged throughout their shift.

Foster a positive, collaborative, and high-energy team environment.

Operations & Service:

Oversee the floor during shifts, ensuring smooth service and resolving any customer issues promptly and professionally.

Maintain impeccable standards for coffee quality, food presentation, and cleanliness.

Manage opening and closing procedures and ensure the cafe is set up for success.

Handle cash and card transactions, ensuring till accuracy and end-of-day reporting.

Reporting & Support:

Provide direct support to the Cafe Manager and act as a key point of contact in their absence.

Monitor and report on key performance indicators such as stock levels, waste, and sales figures.

Relay feedback from customers and the team to management to help drive continuous improvement.

Assist with administrative duties including rotas, stock takes, and ordering.

What We're Looking For (Essential Requirements):

Proven experience in a supervisory or team leader role within a fast-paced cafe or coffee shop environment.

Strong leadership skills with a natural ability to inspire, manage, and develop a team.

Experience directly reporting to and supporting a manager with operational duties.

Extensive coffee experience is essential, including proficiency in espresso preparation, milk texturing.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a passion for delivering exceptional customer service.

Ability to problem-solve, think on your feet, and remain calm under pressure.

A strong understanding of health and safety standards and food hygiene regulations.

A positive, can-do attitude and a genuine passion for the food and coffee industry.
