The Youth Worker plays a vital role in supporting and guiding young individuals in their personal development and social skills. This position involves creating a safe and engaging environment where youth can thrive, learn, and develop essential life skills. The Youth Worker will also assist in various activities, including food preparation and hospitality tasks, to foster teamwork and leadership among participants.
Duties
Facilitate engaging programmes and activities for youth that promote personal growth and social interaction.
Assist in food preparation and ensure adherence to food safety standards during kitchen operations.
Provide guidance and support to young individuals, helping them develop leadership skills through collaborative tasks.
Maintain a safe and welcoming environment for all participants, addressing any concerns or issues that may arise.
Collaborate with other staff members to plan events and activities that enhance the overall experience for youth.
Encourage teamwork and cooperation among participants during group activities, fostering a sense of community.
Monitor the well-being of youth, providing emotional support as needed and referring them to appropriate services when necessary.
Requirements
Previous experience in food production, hospitality, or kitchen environments is advantageous.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire young individuals.
Knowledge of food safety practices and regulations related to food preparation.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage effectively with youth.
A genuine passion for working with young people and helping them achieve their potential.
Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also being self-motivated.
Flexibility to adapt to changing situations and needs of the youth participants.
