Job Overview


We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Cafe / kitchen assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food and customer service, bringing a positive attitude to our cafe environment. As a Cafe Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring our customers receive exceptional service while assisting with food preparation and maintaining a clean and welcoming atmosphere.

This is a joint front and back of house position for an already experienced person with at least 2 years in the hospitality industry.



Responsibilities



Assist in the preparation and cooking of meals according to established recipes and food safety guidelines. Support the Kitchen team in delivering high-quality food services for daily service. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. Serve food and beverages to customers, providing excellent customer service at all times. Collaborate with other staff to ensure efficient meal preparation and timely service. Handle food items safely, adhering to all food safety standards to prevent contamination. Assist with inventory management, including stock rotation and reporting any shortages to management. work with customers face to face, front of house taking order and clearing tables.

Requirements



Previous experience in a cafe or restaurant environment is essential. Knowledge of culinary techniques and meal preparation processes is advantageous. Familiarity with food safety practices and regulations is essential. Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team. A passion for cooking and serving quality food & beverages to customers. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Flexibility in working hours, including weekends & bank holidays. This role is based on working unto 5 out of 7 days per week, across all days, schedules vary. The ideal candidate will already know how to operate a semi automatic commercial coffee machine and feel confident in producing a decent standard of coffee. Our Candidate will be happy to work under multiple service roles within the business to meet customer demand. Be available to start from 8am/9am daily for a 6-9 hour shift. This is a guide.
