We are currently looking for an enthusiastic, reliable and adaptable Registered Mental Health Nurse to join the CAMHS Crisis, Liaison and IHT team across County Durham and Darlington for a fixed term of 12 months to cover maternity leave - part time (24 hours).
CAMHS Crisis, Liaison and IHT team are welcoming, friendly and dedicated to ensuring that young people in a mental health crisis get access to the right support in the right place at the right time.
We are a 24/7 service. Our team work 12 hours shifts across a 7 day period, including night shifts, weekends and Bank Holidays.
Applicants must ensure that prior to applying they have agreement from their current line manager that they can be released on a secondment basis. In the event that permanent funding is secured for this post the successful applicant will be confirmed in post on a permanent basis.
Main duties of the job
As a CAMHS Crisis Practitioner you will work as part of an MDT to assess, formulate and support young people and their families when they are in a crisis situation and require access to mental health support. This may be in the community or in one of the acute hospitals. Manage mental health risk and work with the network around the young person to ensure safety and wellbeing.
Candidates must have 18 months post qualifying experience including sign off of appropriate preceptorship or competency framework.

  • Current professional registration with Nursing & Midwifery Council - RNMH or RNLD (RNSC - CAMHS only ) - RGN (If appropriate)
  • Evidence of Continuing Professional Development.
  • Recognised Practice Supervisor and/or Practice Assessor, clinical educator or equivalent. Must be achieved within 6 months
  • Trained in Clinical Supervision and providing clinical supervision OR willingness to work towards within 6 months
Experience
Essential

  • Working collaboratively with service users and their families/carers.
  • Providing clinical supervision to individuals or groups as professionally appropriate.
