About us
------------
UCL is a radically different university. Since our founding in 1826, we've been opening up education--welcoming students of any religion, and the first in England to welcome women to university study. Today, we're one of the world's top 10 universities, with more than 50,000 students and 16,000 staff.
The Office of the Vice-President External Engagement (VPEE) drives UCL's engagement with the world: raising our profile and influence, strengthening our reputation, and showcasing the public value of our research and partnerships in the UK and globally. Our award-winning team of communications and marketing professionals deliver sector-leading work across media, public affairs, brand and marketing, student recruitment, and events.
About the role
------------------
We are looking for a talented Campaigns Manager to design, deliver and evaluate integrated communications campaigns that make a real impact. You will also be responsible for managing the production of UCL's award-winning podcast series and managing podcast publishing for departments on central UCL platforms. Working closely with colleagues you will:
Develop and deliver insight-driven campaigns that enhance UCL's reputation and engage diverse audiences.
Oversee the production of campaign plans, ensuring activity is on-brand, audience-focused, and measurable.
Manage the delivery of UCL's award-winning podcast series, as well as supporting departments to publish podcasts on central platforms.
Build strong working relationships with internal stakeholders, external suppliers, and creative agencies to bring campaigns to life.
Monitor performance data, budgets, and impact to inform future activity.
As part of the VPEE team, you'll also contribute to flagship university events, including graduation ceremonies and open days.
Please note, this is a full-time fixed term role covering a maternity leave and is available to start from 1 January 2026 until 31 December 2026. The role is available on a hybrid basis and will be based onsite at our London Kings Cross/St Pancras office 2-days per week.
Please apply with your CV and tailored Covering Letter/Supporting statement telling us why you have applied for this role, and the skills and experience you bring that are required in the person specification and job description. Applications without a covering letter/supporting statement will not be considered for shortlisting.
Job Ref: B23-00154
Closing Date: 07-10-2025 - 23:59 (UK time) - Applications may close early if volumes are high, so early submission is recommended.
About you
-------------
We are looking for someone who is both proactive and creative, with the drive to deliver results and the confidence to work collaboratively across a wide range of teams. You will have a strong background in planning and delivering communications, PR, brand or marketing campaigns, and you'll know how to shape activity that captures attention and leaves a lasting impression. At the heart of your approach is an ability to develop content that engages and inspires, whether that's through digital, print, or face-to-face channels.
You'll bring with you a deep understanding of the full breadth of communications platforms, knowing when and how to use them to reach different audiences in meaningful ways. Complex information doesn't faze you -- you can take it, distil it, and share it in ways that are clear, compelling and tailored to the people you're trying to reach.
This is a role for someone who is organised and calm under pressure. Juggling multiple priorities will be second nature, and you'll feel comfortable managing deadlines without losing sight of quality or attention to detail. At the same time, you'll thrive on creativity, generating fresh ideas and new approaches that help campaigns and projects stand out.
Your ability to build strong working relationships will be just as important as your technical skills. You'll be confident working with colleagues at all levels of the university, influencing where needed, supporting where appropriate, and always keeping collaboration at the core of what you do. Alongside this, you'll be adept with the practical tools of the trade -- whether that's Microsoft Office, Adobe design software such as InDesign, Illustrator or Photoshop, or website content management and analytics platforms.
