The Campus Cohesion Officer plays a crucial role in promoting a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment across the college. Working collaboratively with curriculum and student support teams, the postholder supports the college's cohesion agenda by encouraging positive attitudes and behaviours that contribute to successful educational outcomes. Through visible engagement on campus, they act as a role model for professionalism and mutual respect, proactively addressing behavioural issues and supporting effective interventions. The role ensures adherence to key policies, including behaviour and safeguarding standards, while maintaining accurate records of incidents and actions taken. As a visible and approachable presence, the Campus Cohesion Officer helps foster a culture of accountability, wellbeing, and community across the college.


We have an exciting opportunity at our Openshaw Campus to join our Foundation Learning Department as a Campus Cohesion Officer on a permanent, full-time (35 hours per week) term-time only basis (38 weeks per year).

Located just outside Manchester city centre, the campus offers a wide range of vocational and academic courses, with specialist spaces for areas such as construction, engineering, health, and digital.

Skills, Qualifications and Experience





To be successful in this role, you will need to:


Qualified to Level 4 or relevant industry experience. Minimum of Level 2 English and Maths, or equivalent. First Aid qualifications (or willingness to work towards). Experience of working with young people/adults in an education or similar environment. Experience of managing incidents under pressure. Experience of managing challenging behaviours. Excellent communication skills. Strong people skills. Ability to foster a culture of teamwork and excellence. The ability to make decisions quickly. Excellent problem-solving skills. The ability to work under pressure. The ability to manage challenging situations calmly. Excellent customer service skills. Good working knowledge of ICT. Well-organised and ability to meet deadlines.
