Job Description


We are looking to appoint to a Cancer Pathway Coordinator within Cancer Performance.
The post will support the Cancer and Access Performance Officer and join the current team of Cancer Care Pathway Coordinators in the tracking of cancer patients through their pathway.
To be successful in this role, the Candidates require a good understanding of the cancer pathways and the national targets. You will have excellent communication and organisational skills, be able to work under pressure whilst adhering to deadlines and have the ability to negotiate and liaise effectively within a team based environment.
Main duties of the job
Previous NHS experience and working within a cancer setting is essential.
The post will support the Cancer and Access Performance Officer and join the current team of Cancer Care Pathway Coordinators in the implementation of cancer MDTs, including inputting data, request imaging/pathology from tertiary sites, preparing documentation for MDT, collecting accurate data for audit.
This is a busy and demanding role so candidates will need to be enthusiastic, highly motivated and have a flexible approach to their role to ensure the needs of the service are met. They will have the flexibility to respond to requests from specialities, and will be able to work under their own initiative. Applicants should also have excellent organisational and communications skills, be able to work under pressure whilst ensuring all deadlines are achieved.

  • Knowledge of secretarial and administrative procedures and systems, the majority of which are non-routine, acquired through training and experience to Vocational Level 3 or equivalent; plus knowledge of specialist functional/medical/legal terms, organisational policies and procedures and knowledge and experience to deal with non-routine issues such as problem solving for an area of work or developing alternative or additional procedures
