Bon Appetit is on the lookout for a dynamic and experienced Canteen Manager to oversee the daily operations of our busy onsite canteen at a key construction site in Market Harborough. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a background in catering, hospitality, or facilities management to take charge of a fast paced, customer facing environment that keeps the workforce energised and productive.
You'll be central to our catering team onsite, responsible for delivering outstanding food service and creating a welcoming, efficient and compliant canteen experience for our client's construction teams. What you'll be doing
Overseeing the full scope of canteen operations, ensuring smooth service and quality food delivery throughout the day
Leading, training and motivating a team of kitchen and service staff, setting high standards for service and conduct
Ensuring compliance with food hygiene, health & safety regulations and industry nutritional standards
Managing stock and inventory, including ordering supplies and minimising waste
Planning and adjusting staff rotas, supporting recruitment and contributing to regular team appraisals
Liaising with site contacts and clients to respond to feedback, requests and service improvements
Addressing operational issues proactively and finding practical, timely solutions
Maintaining records for audits and inspections, including HACCP and allergen tracking
Taking responsibility for daily financial procedures, from tills and petty cash to budget management
Helping shape menu options, promotional ideas, and wellbeing initiatives for site teams
What we're looking for
Experience:
Background within catering, hospitality or B&I sectors
Leadership:
Proven ability to lead a team in a busy, people driven environment
Customer Focused:
A confident communicator who can build relationships with staff, clients and contractors
Organised and Practical:
Skilled in multitasking, prioritising workloads and troubleshooting on the go
Compliance Oriented:
Strong understanding of food safety, health & safety and operational standards
Adaptable:
Resilient and comfortable working onsite with changing priorities and fast-paced demands
Own vehicle will be required due to site location
