We're looking for a

Capability

Integration Engineer

to join Rowden's

Engineering Team

, supporting the delivery and fielding of C4ISR and RAS systems for end users. This role blends technical depth, hands-on integration, and trusted consultancy - helping government departments and frontline operators adopt cutting-edge C4ISR and Robotics & Autonomous Systems (RAS) capabilities where they matter most.

You'll need to be curious, user-focused, technically credible and able to communicate clearly in complex environments. You'll work closely with government stakeholders, end users, technical partners and Rowden teams - taking ownership of system integration and ensuring capability reaches the hands of those who need it, fully operational and ready for use.



This is a UK-based role with regular travel to MOD sites (Midlands, South, Wales) and occasional international trips. Compensation reflects the fact that you'll need to spend some time on the road.

Our preference is to hire on a 12-month fixed-term basis, but we're open to permanent positions for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities





As Capability Integration Engineer you'll:Maintain, transport, configure and deploy tactical C4ISR and RAS systems Act as a technical liaison between government, industry partners, and end users Capture requirements and develop operational Concepts of Use (CONUSE) Carry out feasibility assessments and de-risking using Rowden's integration facilities Provide first-line support (e.g. network config, fault finding, bug reporting) Deliver scenario-based user training in classroom and field settings Support documentation and reporting across the deployment lifecycle Communicate clearly with a wide range of stakeholders, including end users, civil servants, technology providers and other project teams

Skills, Knowledge and Ways of Working



What you'll bring

Experience in an engineering or technical role, ideally within defence, tactical comms, or government Hands-on experience with tactical networks and radios (VHF/UHF/MANET) Strong understanding of IP networking, computer configuration, and field integration Understanding of radio propagation, RF systems and antennas Experience working alongside military users and government stakeholders Comfortable working independently and as part of cross-functional teams SC clearance (or eligibility); DV desirable

Desirable skills

Experience with Team Awareness Kit (TAK) and other geospatial applications Familiarity with cloud platforms and Agile practices Basic knowledge of software development and system lifecycle Experience creating technical documentation and support material
