Self Drive is a reputable family-owned vehicle rental company established in 1996 at Aldergrove area in Crumlin, Antrim. We specialise in providing a wide range of high-quality cars, hatchbacks/estates, auto/manual for rental, along with a variety of vans for corporate rentals across Ireland. Our team takes pride in offering excellent service to businesses, corporate customers and private hirers.

Job Summary

Selfdrive is looking for a reliable and proactive Hire Assistant to join our busy team. In this customer-facing role, you will support daily rental operations by taking calls, handling payments, preparing vehicles, and helping customers get on the road quickly and safely. This is a hands-on, active position that requires strong communication skills, a positive attitude, and a commitment to delivering excellent service.

Key Responsibilities

Answer incoming customer calls and handle booking enquiries professionally.

Process payments accurately and maintain correct records.

Organise vehicles for daily hires, including scheduling, vehicle preparation, and key handovers.

Deliver and collect vehicles as needed.

Clean and prepare vehicles to a high standard before each hire.

Greet customers on-site, complete necessary documentation, and assist them in getting familiar with their hire car.

Requirements

Age 25 or over (insurance requirement).

Must hold a full UK driver's licence for at least 2 years.

No accidents, insurance claims, or driving convictions in the last 5 years.

Good communication and customer service skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Flexible to work weekends as part of the regular rota.

Physically fit to move and clean vehicles as part of daily duties.

Job Details

Minimum 20 hours per week, including weekend shifts.

Pay: National Minimum Wage (rate based on age and UK government guidelines).
