We're looking for a motivated Carbon Reduction Assistant to support our ambitious Organisational Climate Change Plan. Working with our Carbon Reduction Project Officers, Operational Energy Manager and Carbon Reduction Manager, you'll help deliver real change across the Council's operational assets.



Reporting to the Carbon Reduction Manager, the successful candidate will:



Support the planning and delivery of major carbon reduction projects. Manage smaller sustainability projects under guidance. Analyse energy and carbon data to identify saving opportunities. Maintain project trackers and monitor performance against targets. Conduct site visits, surveys and support work in technical environments. Help maintain the Council's utilities database and validate bills. Liaise with suppliers and internal teams to resolve utility issues. Generate energy performance reports and manage monitoring systems. Maintain the team's shared inbox and support daily operations.

The role would suit an individual who is driven to save carbon and who has previously worked in an advisory or project support role.



Applicants should be qualified to degree level or equivalent and have experience or knowledge of energy, climate or carbon reduction fields. Applicants should have strong analytical, problem solving, and organisational skills.



They should also have a proactive, flexible attitude and the ability to work well with others.
