Role Overview



We are seeking a highly motivated Care and Compliance Manager to oversee and maintain regulatory compliance across all aspects of the care home's operations. You will be responsible for ensuring adherence to CQC (Care Quality Commission) regulations, safeguarding standards, health and safety policies, and other statutory requirements. The role will involve auditing, policy development, staff training, and continuous improvement to ensure excellence in care delivery.

Key Responsibilities



Regulatory Compliance & Quality Assurance. Ensure full compliance with CQC standards, safeguarding regulations, and relevant health and social care legislation. Lead on all internal and external audits, ensuring thorough preparation and successful inspections. Develop, implement, and monitor policies and procedures to maintain high-quality care and compliance. Keep up to date with regulatory changes and ensure timely implementation of new policies. Conduct regular audits and compliance checks across the home, identifying areas for improvement.

Training & Development



Support the Care Home Director in embedding a compliance-focused culture throughout the home. Deliver or arrange staff training to ensure compliance with policies, regulations, and best practices. Provide coaching and guidance to staff on risk management, data protection, safeguarding, and health & safety.

Health & Safety & Risk Management



Ensure a robust risk management framework is in place, identifying and mitigating risks effectively. Conduct risk assessments and incident investigations, ensuring prompt action is taken. Work closely with maintenance and care teams to ensure health and safety standards are upheld. Ensure data protection policies (GDPR compliance) are adhered to across all areas of the care home.

Incident Management & Reporting.



Manage and review safeguarding concerns, complaints, and incident reports, ensuring timely resolution and escalation where necessary. Work closely with the Care Home Director to investigate and respond to compliance breaches. Prepare and present compliance reports for senior management, highlighting risks, trends, and actions taken.

Person Specification Essential:



Strong knowledge of CQC regulations, safeguarding frameworks, and health & safety requirements. Experience in compliance, governance, or quality assurance within the health and social care sector. Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and educate staff at all levels. Proven experience in conducting audits, risk assessments, and policy development.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.

Ability to work independently, prioritise tasks, and drive continuous improvement.

Desirable:



Experience working in a care home or residential care setting. Relevant compliance or quality assurance qualification (e.g., Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health & Social Care, NEBOSH, or similar). Experience in safeguarding investigations and complaint handling.

Pay: 40,000.00-45,000.00 per year
