Ashlodge care home is looking for a compassionate and dedicated Care Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to residents in a care home setting or through home care services. This position requires excellent communication skills, a strong understanding of care plans, and the ability to work effectively with both clients and their families.

Duties

Assist residents with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility support. Implement and follow individual care plans tailored to each resident's needs. Provide companionship and emotional support to residents, fostering a positive environment. Maintain accurate records of care provided and report any changes in residents' conditions to senior staff. Ensure the cleanliness and safety of the living environment for all residents. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care is delivered. Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance your skills. Prepare light meals or snacks adhering to dietary requirements and care plans. Support residents with laundry tasks including sorting, washing, drying, folding, and distributing clothing and linens. Utilise IT systems for documentation and communication purposes effectively.

Qualifications

Previous experience in a care home or home care setting is desirable but not essential. Good communication skills in English, both verbal and written, are necessary for effective interaction with residents and their families. Basic IT skills are required for maintaining records and using care management software. A caring attitude, patience, and empathy towards individuals in need of assistance are essential traits for this role.
