Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Care Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality care to residents in a care home setting, ensuring their comfort, dignity, and well-being. This role involves assisting with daily living activities and supporting individuals in maintaining their independence. A strong emphasis on communication skills and the ability to follow care plans is essential.

Responsibilities

Deliver personal care and support to residents, including assistance with bathing, dressing, and grooming. Assist residents with mobility and transfers, ensuring safety and comfort at all times. Follow individual care plans to meet the specific needs of each resident. Maintain accurate records of care provided and report any changes in residents' health or behaviour to senior staff. Engage residents in social activities to promote mental well-being and companionship. Ensure a clean and safe environment by adhering to health and safety regulations. Communicate effectively with residents, families, and other healthcare professionals. Drive residents to appointments or activities as required (driving licence preferred).

Skills

Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written. Experience in a care home or home care setting is advantageous. Ability to understand and implement care plans effectively. Proficient IT skills for maintaining records and documentation. Empathy, patience, and a genuine desire to help others are essential qualities for this role. Strong organisational skills to manage time effectively while providing care.
