Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Care Assistant to join our team in providing exceptional care to individuals in a care home setting. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills and the ability to follow care plans, ensuring that each resident receives personalised support tailored to their needs. This role is vital in enhancing the quality of life for our residents, promoting their independence and wellbeing.

Responsibilities

Assist residents with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility support. Communicate effectively with residents, their families, and the care team to ensure a high standard of care is maintained. Follow individual care plans meticulously, adapting as necessary to meet changing needs. Escort residents to appointments or activities as required, ensuring their safety and comfort during transportation. Maintain accurate records of care provided and report any changes in residents' conditions to senior staff. Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in home care practices. Support a clean and safe environment within the care home by adhering to health and safety regulations.

Requirements

Previous experience in a care home or home care setting is advantageous but not essential. Strong communication skills in English are necessary for effective interaction with residents and colleagues. Basic IT skills for maintaining digital care records and accessing care plans are preferred. A compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others is essential for this role. Ability to work flexibly, including weekends and evenings as needed.
