REPORTS TO: Residential Care/Nurse Manager/Unit Manager
At present we do not have any sponsorship positions available.
This role requires a DBS disclosure at enhanced level.
ROLE:
To work as a member of the team within our home under the direction of the senior team/registered nurses.
To be responsible for the delivery of high quality person centered programmes of care to residents of our home, respecting the dignity of each individual and promoting independence.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES:
To provide an holistic approach to each resident, delivering the highest quality of individual care and support.
To assist in the promotion of physical and psychological activity of residents.
Undertake to ensure the best possible level of personal comfort and privacy to all residents.
To assist in the care of residents at the end of their life.
To relate to all residents in an age appropriate manner with respect for advancing years.
To communicate appropriately with residents, staff and visitors to our home.
As a team member to co-operate and assist with tasks to ensure the smooth running of our home at all times.
To participate in supervision, development and training activities as required.
To assist and promote residents to maintain and maximise their independence.
To support residents during outings and appointments.
To participate in a flexible rota which meets the needs of the service.
To report to senior staff/registered nurse any change in the health or circumstances of a resident.
To maintain records that are current, legible and appropriate.
To answer the telephone and ensure messages are recorded/transmitted accurately.
To provide an efficient response to calls from residents, their families and friends and staff.
To behave professionally at all times and maintain confidentiality of information.
To work at all times to the highest standard of good practice.
To be aware of the importance of maintaining the quality of the physical environment of our home.
To attend staff meetings as requested.
To ensure open channels of communication/information at all levels.
To ensure a safe environment is maintained.
To positively market the service both internally and externally.
To have regard to Health and Safety issues at work at all times

It is the nature of the work at this home that tasks and responsibilities are, in many circumstances, unpredictable and varied. Staff are therefore expected to work in a flexible way when jobs not specifically covered in their job description, have to be undertaken. If the additional responsibility or task becomes a regular or frequent part of the staff's job it will be included in the job description after consultation with the member of staff.
