Night shift - 20:00 to 08:00

, must be flexible for weekends if required

DBS:

Standard or Enhanced DBS may be required depending on placement

About the Role

We are looking for a caring and dedicated

Female Care Assistant

to provide

1-to-1 overnight personal care and support

for residents in a warm, supportive care home setting. This important night role ensures residents are safe, comfortable and well cared for throughout the night.

You'll help with personal care, monitoring wellbeing, assisting with mobility, ensuring comfort and supporting any needs that arise during the night shift.

Key Responsibilities

Provide personal care assistance during the night: toileting, washing, changing and personal hygiene as needed. Support residents with limited mobility and the safe use of aids. Monitor residents' wellbeing, responding calmly and sensitively to any needs during the night. Assist residents who may have dementia or challenging behaviours overnight. Ensure residents are comfortable, repositioned if needed and their environment is safe. Carry out light cleaning tasks to maintain a clean and safe area during the shift. Prepare and maintain accurate records of night-time care activities. Maintain confidentiality at all times. Use PPE as required and comply with all infection control and health & safety standards. Attend handovers and communicate clearly with day staff.

About You

Female only:

This role is open to female carers due to the personal nature of 1-to-1 care. Genuine compassion for elderly and disabled people. Calm, patient and respectful approach. Good verbal communication and teamwork skills. Physically able to carry out personal care tasks, moving/handling residents when needed. Flexible to work

20:00-08:00

shifts and weekends if required. Reliable, with a high standard of personal conduct and hygiene. Comfortable with the emotional aspects of night care.
