Visiting Angels Edinburgh East

are seeking compassionate individuals to join our team of Care Assistants. As a Care Assistant, you will be responsible for providing personal care, companionship and home help to older people to allow them to live independently in their own homes.

You do not need any home care experience or particular qualifications to become a Care Assistant and we encourage people with various backgrounds to apply. We provide FULL training from the start.

Care Worker benefits:

What does being a Care Assistant involve?

Being a Care Assistant/ Care Professional is a highly rewarding career where no two days are the same!

You will be introduced to all new clients and Care Professionals are matched to clients based on personality, background, hobbies and interests. With a minimum of 1 hour visits you have time to really get to know your clients, build trusting relationships allowing you to provide truly person-centred, quality care.

Duties can include:

Companionship - ensuring a client enjoys regular and meaningful social interaction is an important part of your visit. Help with everyday tasks such as shopping, general household tasks and preparing fresh food - from scratch! Personal care - supporting your client with the essentials such as bathing, showering, dressing and grooming to keep them healthy and promote independence.
Previous care experience is welcome, but not required. This could be from working in a care home, as a Healthcare Assistant, Support Worker, or in the NHS. It could also be from working as a volunteer, or personal experience of caring for a loved one.
