Overview

We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Care Assistants to provide hourly support to an individual in need of assistance every morning in Melton Mowbray. This role is vital in ensuring the comfort, safety, and well-being of our residents. As a Care Assistant, you will work closely with the client in their home giving them companionship, supporting them with cleaning and shopping. It is vital you are located in Melton Mowbray due to the nature of the call.

Responsibilities

Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation. Provide companionship and emotional support to residents. Monitor and document vital signs as required. Administer medications according to prescribed schedules. Support individuals with developmental disabilities and those experiencing dementia or Alzheimer's disease. Maintain a clean and safe environment for residents by performing light housekeeping duties. Utilize EMR systems for accurate record-keeping and communication with healthcare teams. Operate equipment such as Hoyer lifts when necessary to assist with mobility. Engage in behavior management techniques to support residents' needs effectively.

Skills

Candidates should possess a combination of the following skills:

First aid certification Experience in assisted living or nursing home settings Knowledge of senior care practices Familiarity with memory care and dementia care strategies Ability to work with individuals with disabilities Experience in long-term care or home & community care environments Proficiency in medication administration and monitoring vital signs Strong caregiving skills including cleaning and meal preparation Experience working in group homes or retirement homes Effective communication skills for direct support interactions Driving capability may be required for certain positions

Pay: 12.30-13.10 per hour
