Kilmar House Care Home is a family run care facility for residential clients
Purpose:
To assist with the provision of all aspects of care to the residents, which respects their dignity, privacy and promotes their independence.
Principle responsibilities
1. To contribute to the efficient operation of the Home.
2. To work as part of a team, Key Worker and give support to other staff.
3. To contribute and participate in staff meetings.
4. To adhere to Home Policies and Procedures.
5. To comply with the Conditions of Employment, Health and Safety Policy - including COSHH and Environmental Health Regulations.
6. To enhance and promote the clients quality of life.
7. To work under the supervision of the Senior Carer on duty.
8. To be caring, sympathetic and tactful when dealing with clients and relatives.
9. To assist clients with their personal care giving help in areas of bathing, washing, dressing, maintaining personal hygiene and sanitary requirements.
10. To promote physical, mental and social recreational activities and participate in them.
11. To report and write up information, relaying any concerns to the senior members of staff immediately.
12. To ensure care notes and any other form of written report that affects your work are read and you are kept up to date.
13. To take care of the Home and its contents and to consider the appearance of the Home.
14. To ensure that the bedrooms, bathrooms and common facilities are clean and hygienic in accordance with the Home work schedule.
15. To care for the dying.
16. To assist with preparing and serving of meals
17. To be on standby to answer call bells, greet visitors, answer telephone calls and the door.
18. To attend staff training, both internal and external, as required, to maintain safe practice.
19. To give medication and clinical care to clients as authorised and directed - ONLY IF YOU HAVE BEEN TRAINED AND ARE CONFIDENT IN PERFORMING THESE DUTIES. INFORM YOUR SUPERVISOR IF YOU HAVE ANY DIFFICULTIES WITH ANY ASSIGNED DUTIES OF THIS NATURE.
20. To promote equality and diversity and report any concerns under the whistleblowing policy.
21. To maintain confidentiality of the clients, the home and other staff
22. To understand responsibilities under safeguarding adults and to report any concerns as per the home policy.
Note: In addition to the responsibilities listed above, it may be necessary to perform other duties not listed. Consideration will be given to your skills and status when requesting you to perform these duties
