Locations: Finchley, Barnet, Golders Green, Wood Green - all in London
Salary: 12.82 per hour (starting rate)
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, flexible shifts (days, evenings, weekends, occasional nights)

About the Role



We are recruiting dedicated and proactive Care Assistants to support young adults in Supported Living settings across North London. Our clients include individuals with learning disabilities, autism, mild to moderate mental health needs, and those requiring support to develop independence and daily living skills.

This role is centred around empowerment, personal development, and meaningful engagement. You will work within small community-based settings, supporting service users to build confidence, maintain their tenancy, and participate safely in everyday life.

Key Responsibilities



Support young adults in developing independence skills such as cooking, budgeting, travel training, and home management Provide personal care where required, respecting privacy, choice, and dignity Assist with accessing education, employment, volunteering, and social activities Promote community inclusion--supporting service users to attend appointments, activities, and leisure opportunities Encourage positive routines, emotional wellbeing, and confidence-building Support with medication prompts or administration (depending on service requirements) Maintain accurate and detailed daily notes, risk assessments, and support plans Safeguard vulnerable individuals in line with organisational policy, CQC regulations, and local authority procedures Work collaboratively with families, social workers, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure consistent, high-quality support

What We're Looking For



Essential:

Compassionate, patient, and empathetic nature Good literacy and numeracy skills Willingness to complete the company's induction, knowledge and skills training, and Care Certificate

Desirable:



NVQ/QCF Level 2 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent) Full UK driving licence and access to a car Previous experience in a care role (professional or personal) Knowledge of CQC standards, safeguarding, and care legislation IT skills, including use of Microsoft Office and/or electronic care systems
