We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Care Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to individuals in a care home or home care setting, ensuring their comfort and well-being. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills and the ability to follow care plans effectively while fostering a positive environment for our clients.
Responsibilities
Administering medications
Bathing or showering support
Personal care
Companionship
Running errands
Assisting with eating and drinking
Mobility support
Preparing meals and feeding
Wash and dress patients
Attending meetings with other healthcare professionals
Involvement with writing residents' care plans
Providing emotional support
Record keeping
Ensure care delivered is person centred
Manual handling, using equipment where required
Support with hobbies and physical activities
Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal care, and medication management.
Support clients in following their individual care plans, ensuring that their specific needs are met.
Communicate effectively with clients, families, and healthcare professionals to provide updates on client progress and any concerns.
Maintain accurate records of client care and report any changes in health or behaviour to the appropriate personnel.
Assist with light housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and safe environment for clients.
Engage clients in social activities and provide companionship to enhance their quality of life.
Requirements
Previous experience in a care home or home care setting is preferred but not essential.
Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written, are necessary for effective interaction with clients and team members.
Ability to follow care plans accurately and demonstrate attention to detail in all tasks.
Basic IT skills for maintaining electronic records and communication purposes.
A caring attitude with a genuine desire to help others is essential for success in this role.
