Carer - The Mountains Care Home

Location:

Libanus, Brecon, Powys, LD3 8EN

Pay:

12.35 - 12.65 per hour (depending on qualifications)

Contract:

Permanent, Full-Time

Hours:

Up to 40 hours per week | 8:00am - 8:00pm or 8:00pm - 8:00am

Rota:

Mixture of days & nights | Every other weekend | Issued around 2 months in advance

We're looking for a dedicated and compassionate Carer to join our team at The Mountains Care Home, where your kindness and professionalism will make a real difference to older adults living with dementia and other mental health conditions.

About The Mountains

Nestled in Libanus, near Brecon, and surrounded by the stunning Brecon Beacons National Park, The Mountains is a specialist home providing 24-hour support for older adults (65+) with Alzheimer's, dementia, and complex mental health needs.

Our team is known for being warm, compassionate, and committed to delivering person-centred care in a peaceful, rural setting.

Your Role

As a Carer, you'll provide hands-on support with daily routines while helping residents maintain dignity, comfort, and independence.

Key responsibilities include:

Providing personal care with empathy and respect Supporting residents with meals, mobility, and daily activities Following personalised care plans Offering companionship and emotional reassurance Maintaining accurate records and reporting changes Working flexibly across day and night shifts as scheduled

What We're Looking For

Level 2 QCF/NVQ in Health & Social Care (or commitment to work toward it) Previous experience in a care setting (essential) Knowledge of dementia and mental health support (preferred) Compassionate, calm, and respectful approach Team player with the ability to work independently when required Flexibility to work rolling rotas, including nights and alternate weekends
