Nightshift Care Assistants - Newlands Care Home, Dunfermline

13.10-13.60 per hour with paid breaks (which is equivalent to 14.55-15.10 with unpaid breaks)

Newlands Care Home is a small, family-run home in Dunfermline, and we are looking for a night shift care assistant to join out team.

Guaranteed set shifts

(with the option of additional shifts if you want them)on an alternating two week rota.

Week 1 - Tuesday, Wednesday and Sunday, Week 2 - Tuesday, Saturday and Sunday.

Permanent hours available after probation (30hrs) A thorough

induction and shadowing programme over several weeks

About the role

Nightshift runs

10pm-8am

(occasional 8pm starts) You will be

rostered on set shifts with a two week alternating rota

You'll provide personal care, reassurance and support to residents, ensuring their dignity, comfort and safety at all times This is a

physically demanding role

and requires a good level of fitness and good time-keeping Flexibility is important - additional shifts may be available to cover absence or holidays We can also offer dayshifts to gain additional shifts should the candidate be available

What we're looking for

Reliability is essential

- our residents depend on us, so we are looking for people with a strong work ethic, low sickness levels, and a commitment to being part of the team Previous care experience (ideally in a care home and/or nightshift) A caring, friendly and respectful approach - able to put residents at ease Patience, resilience and the ability to stay calm in challenging situations Strong communication skills and a good sense of humour Commitment to completing SVQ2 (if not already held) within 3 years
It's preferable that candidates live locally or have their own transport. Please check public transport options for nightshift before applying.

Requirements

PVG membership (we can arrange this if needed) SSSC registration within 3 months of starting (we will support you with this)
