Care Assistants at Oliver House Make a Real and Positive Impact to The Lives of Older People Who Have a Range of Care Needs as Well as Life Experiences and Personalities That Makes Every Day Varied and Interesting.

As A Care Assistant You Will Provide Person Centred Care and Support to Assist Residents to Maintain Their Independence Including Personal Care, Mealtimes, And Activities Whilst Also Providing a Listening Ear to Those Who Need It Most.

Carers Are Expected To:

1. Assist Residents in All Aspects of Their Care Needs (E.G., Physical, Emotional, And Spiritual). Provide Supervision and Attention When Needed, Ensuring Residents Retain Their Comfort and Dignity.

2. Pay Particular Attention to Assisting Residents Who Have Limited Mobility, Or Physical and Or Mental Health Issues, Utilising the Aids Provided.

3. Closely Monitor Residents Who May Be Confused And/or Who Have Challenging Behaviours.

4. Assist in The Promotion of Continence.

5. Assist in The Delivery of Care for Residents Who Are Receiving End of Life Care or Who Have a Progressive Illness. Assist With Last Offices.

6. Assist in Framework of Social Activities by Interacting with Residents and Helping Them Continue with Hobbies and Activities in The Care Home.

7. Answer Nurse Call System, Giving Assistance as Required. Answer The Door and Telephone Appropriately. Respond Accordingly and Pass on Messages Promptly Using the Communication Protocol Within the Home.

8. Carry Out Regular Checks on Residents at Intervals Determined by Senior Staff Members.

9. Make Visitors Feel Welcome. Provide Refreshments/Assistance as And When Required.

10. Make and Change Beds, Ensuring That Rooms Are Clean and Tidy, And Commodes Are Empty, In Line with The Care Home's Disposal of Waste Policy and Complying with The Infection, Prevention and Control Policy. Ensure The Care Home's Resources Are Used Appropriately.

11. Clean and Maintain Equipment Used by Residents / Relatives E.G., Wheelchairs, Hearing Aids, Spectacles Etc.

12. Ensure the Care Home Is Kept Clean and Tidy, In Line with The Company's Policies and Procedures in Place.

13. If Applicable, Care for Residents' Clothing and Rooms as Named, And Ensure That All Clothing Is Recorded and Clearly Marked. Make Sure Deliveries Are Put Away in Line with The Health & Safety at Work Policy Ensuring Moving & Handling Legislation Is Followed.

14. Ensure Full Privacy and Dignity Is Maintained for The Dying and The Bereaved, In Line with The Company's Policies and Procedures.

15. Assist Residents Who Need Support During Mealtimes, Ensuring That Everyone's Risk Assessment and Care Plan Is Adhered Too.

16. To Write Daily Reports and Amend Care Plans to Meet the Changing Needs of Residents.

17. Ensure That Each Member of Staff Is Fully Up to Date and Aware of The Companies Policies & Procedures

18. Undertake Mandatory Training as Required.

19. Support the Home with The Companies Protocol for Covid 19 And the Guidelines and Systems in Place to Protect Residents, Staff, And Visitors.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: 12.21 per hour

Expected hours: 36 per week
