We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing care and assistance to individuals in need, ensuring their well-being and enhancing their quality of life. This position requires a strong commitment to supporting clients with various needs, including those requiring assistance with daily living activities and specialised care.
Duties
Provide personal care and support to clients, including assistance with bathing, dressing, and grooming.
Assist with meal preparation and ensure clients receive nutritious meals tailored to their dietary requirements.
Support clients in engaging in daily activities, promoting independence while ensuring safety.
Implement behaviour management strategies for clients with challenging behaviours.
Offer companionship and emotional support to enhance the overall well-being of clients.
Assist with medication management as required, ensuring adherence to prescribed regimens.
Provide care for individuals with specific needs, including dementia care and hospice care.
Maintain accurate records of client progress and report any changes in health or behaviour to the appropriate professionals.
Qualifications
Previous experience in care settings such as home care, nursing homes, or childcare is preferred.
Knowledge of first aid practices is advantageous.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients, families, and team members.
A compassionate approach towards individuals requiring support and care.
Ability to manage challenging behaviours with patience and understanding.
Flexibility to work varied shifts as required by client needs.
Relevant qualifications or training in care-related fields will be considered an asset.
