Job Overview

As a Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing compassionate support to individuals in care homes or through home care services. Your primary responsibility will be to assist clients with daily living activities, ensuring their comfort and well-being while promoting independence. This position requires strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team, as well as the capability to follow care plans effectively.

Responsibilities

Assist clients with personal care tasks, including bathing, dressing, and grooming. Support individuals with mobility and physical activities, ensuring their safety at all times. Help with meal preparation and feeding as required, promoting nutritional health. Maintain accurate records of care provided and report any changes in clients' conditions to the appropriate personnel. Follow individual care plans meticulously to ensure tailored support for each client. Foster a warm and friendly environment that encourages social interaction and emotional well-being. Engage in light housekeeping duties as needed to maintain a clean living space for clients. Utilise IT systems for documentation and communication purposes effectively.

Requirements

Previous experience in a care home or home care setting is preferred but not essential. A valid driving licence is advantageous for roles involving travel between client homes. Proficiency in English is essential for effective communication with clients and team members. Strong communication skills are necessary to build rapport with clients and their families. Ability to understand and implement care plans accurately while maintaining confidentiality. A compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others improve their quality of life. Basic IT skills are required for documentation purposes and communication within the team.
