We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide essential care and support to individuals in their own homes with support to promote independence and choice in a dignified way. This role is pivotal in enhancing the quality of life for those in need, ensuring their comfort and well-being through personalised care.
Responsibilities
Deliver support and personal care with dignity, respect, and empathy to adults 18 years and above, including those with learning difficulties and older adults with dementia and physical disbilities.
Assist with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and meal preparation , escorts to day centre etc.
Administer medication as prescribed and monitor patients for any side effects or changes in condition.
Offer companionship and emotional support to clients, particularly those dealing with dementia or other cognitive impairments.
Maintain accurate records of care provided and report any concerns to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
Engage clients in social activities to promote mental well-being and reduce feelings of isolation according to their choices and preferences.
Follow company policies and procedures in order to achieve high quality of care.
Skills
Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to help others improve their quality of life.
Proven experience in patient care with at least one year experience in the UK
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and their families.
Knowledge of medication administration protocols.
Willing to complete mandatory training, both face to face and online
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a dynamic environment.
Flexibility to adapt to the varying needs of clients throughout the day.
